Thanks to the Vermont Institute of Natural Science and the Friends of the Springfield Town Library, kids (adults, too) were treated to a visit with two owls and a hawk. Here's a photo of the beautiful barred owl.

Poetry Month

April is Poetry Month. The best book of poems I've seen this year is called Mirror Mirror: A Book of Reversible Verse by Marilyn Singer. Very clever!! If you're looking for funny poems, try Timothy Tunny Swallowed a Bunny by Bill Grossman. Scary? How about Big, Bad, and a Little Bit Scary: Poems that Bite Back!! by Wade Zahares? We have all sorts of poetry books. Many are displayed around the Children's Room and the rest can be found int he 811's.
